Faciliteq transforms old downtown car garage into ultra-modern space
Faciliteq, a green and visionary adaptable workspace provider, moved its headquarters to 817 S. Main Street in 2007 based on the founders’ beliefs in the revitalization of downtown Las Vegas. The company transformed an old car garage into a hip, ultra-modern space and put down roots in the heart of the city. According to Faciliteq Principal Quentin Abramo, operating from Las Vegas’ urban core allows the company to be a part of the growing cultural community and provides immediate access to many important community partners, including the Las Vegas Metro Police, Clark County and the city of Las Vegas – entities which Faciliteq has served for more than a decade.
While its downtown location reflects the company’s commitment to local community, it is the award-winning showroom that demonstrates commitment to environmental sustainability. Faciliteq offers and uses energy-efficient systems made-from-recyclable-material products and products that have been certified for low chemical and particle emissions for use indoors. By incorporating the existing garage features into the design rather than gutting the building and starting over, Faciliteq was able to significantly reduce the project’s waste while creating a unique and artistic feel.
The bright orange engine hoist is a reminder that the workspace was created in the spirit of preservation and commitment to the environment. The company’s efforts have been recognized with the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Nevada Excellence in Design award for Sustainable Design in 2007 and the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP) Redevelopment Project of the year in 2008. Faciliteq is currently pursuing LEED Existing Building certification and most recently was awarded Energy Star® certification.
