Chicago Joe’s Restaurant

Joe Collura was just 18 years old when his family purchased a modest house at 820 S. Fourth St. and turned it into Chicago Joe’s Restaurant. Joe helped his uncle renovate the 1930s-era building, transforming living space into dining space, but keeping many of the signature historic features, including the original tile on the walls and a cozy fireplace near the back door. When the restaurant opened for business in May 1976, Joe was hired as a dishwasher.

Today, more than 36 years later, Chicago Joe’s Restaurant is a downtown institution. Joe now owns the family business with his wife and head chef, Marlene. The classic Sicilian-style cuisine and friendly hometown atmosphere keep the husband and wife team busy with a loyal local following.

Joe and Marlene appreciate the rich history of the building and its location. Through the area’s ups and downs over the decades, they couldn’t be happier with their choice to stay downtown and be part of both its past and its future.

“People have been talking about improving downtown Las Vegas for a long time,” says Marlene. “We are so excited to see that it is all really happening!”

In addition to dine-in service, Chicago Joe’s has a full catering menu perfect for holiday parties. Offerings include the house specialty, Chicken Angelo, as well as Meat Lasagna, Chicken Parmigiana, Sausage and Peppers, and Four-Cheese Ravioli. Marlene adds that the staff is always willing to adjust the menu according the customer’s preference. She says, “If I have the ingredients, I will make it for you!”

Visit Chicago Joe’s Tuesday-Friday from 11 am - 10 pm, and Saturdays from 5 pm - 10 pm. For reservations, call (702) 382-5637; for more information, visit ChicagoJoesRestaurant.com.
